Calendar of events

We at KMVFD believe in community, and we hold several events each year to bring our neighbors together. All events are open to the public, and we would love to see you come out and say hello. Donations are always accepted, but not required for most activities. Below is a list of happenings in OUR community. Unless otherwise specified, ALL events take place at the fire station, 2171 Keel Mountain Road.

March 23, 2019!!

Come out and share chili with your friends and neighbors. Bring a side dish and enjoy the fellowship.

Chili Cook Off

Held in March of each year, we have a chili cooking contest and crown a set of winners. Come out for some good food, fellowship and fun, and sample the chili skills of your neighbors. Entry is open to anyone, bring your crock pot and show off your best. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and the hottest entries.

KMVFD Rabies Clinic

Dr. Elizabeth Billings of Grant Animal Clinic LLC provides low cost rabies immunizations for cats and dogs on one Saturday afternoon each year in May or June. This event has a 2 hour window in the afternoon, and can get very busy.
Hamburgers and hot dogs with the fixin's and drinks are provided by KMVFD and Keel Mountain Kennels LLC free of charge, stop by and see us.
Donations are always welcome.

Saturday, May 18th, 2019

The 2019 clinic was held on Saturday, May 18th, from 2 PM to 4 PM.  Many thanks to Dr. Billings and the Grant Animal Clinic Staff, and to Leslie Reed of Keel Mountain Kennels LLC for providing the meats, buns, and chips for the  free lunch!. This year over 120 dogs and cats were vaccinated.

​The Huntsville Kennel Club will be participating with us, starting at Noon, and will have the following available:
FREE DIY bathing tubs and grooming stations, shampoo, towels, dryers and brushes will be available
FREE Nail Trims
FREE collars and leashes
$25 Microchips, includes lifetime registration

KMVFD Chicken Dinner

This fall festival of flavor occurs in September of each year. Come join us at a hearty meal consisting of half a BBQ chicken, sides, drink, and dessert.

KMVFD Christmas Dinner

Held in early December, we host a Christmas dinner for the community. Bring a side dish and enjoy some good food and fellowship. Dinner starts at 5 p.m., Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m. to deliver presents to the kids!
